Coast Guard Auxiliary Hosting Boat Safety Class In Essex County
The Coast Guard Auxiliary, Air Station Caldwell, will host an "About Boating Safety" class in Fairfield on June 15.

The Coast Guard Auxiliary is hosting an “About Boating Safety” class on Saturday, June 15 at the American Red Cross located at 209 Fairfield Road, Fairfield. The class will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 6pm and is open to members of the public 13 years of age and older. The cost is $65 which includes all materials and a lunch. The public can register online here.
The “About Boating Safely” course is required for anyone wishing to operate a powered boat on New Jersey waters. In addition to teaching the course, the instructors will submit the paperwork for participants to receive their NJ Boating Certificate after completion of the class. The Coast Guard Auxiliary is the uniformed civilian component of the U.S. Coast Guard and supports the Coast Guard in nearly all mission areas. The Auxiliary was created by Congress in 1939.
