Coronavirus Cases 'Rising Quickly' In North Caldwell: Officials

In November, North Caldwell saw its highest number of COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began, public safety officials said.

NORTH CALDWELL, NJ — North Caldwell saw a discouraging milestone in its fight against the coronavirus during November: its highest number of COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began.

On Tuesday, the North Caldwell Police Department released the following message via social media.

“In November we have seen more positive COVID-19 cases than any other month since this pandemic began. North Caldwell has reported 35 new cases in the past 30 days, and it’s rising quickly. We strongly encourage our residents to practice safe social distancing and good hygiene to help us get this under control again. As we continue to respond to help those affected, we need to fight this as a team and we need to protect each other the very best we can. We are hopeful that the end is in sight and that soon we can get back to normal, but until then, let’s continue working hard to keep the spread to a minimum.”

As of Wednesday, North Caldwell has seen 131 cumulative cases of COVID-19 with five deaths linked to the disease, according to statistics from Essex County, which notes that its data may not match municipal totals (here's why).
