CALDWELLS, NJ — How many people have gotten a COVID-19 vaccine in Caldwell, North Caldwell and West Caldwell? (See local stats below)
The New Jersey Department of Health recently began releasing vaccine statistics for each city and town in the state. The state’s website doesn’t note which variety of the vaccine have been given. The Pfizer and Moderna versions require two doses spaced several weeks apart; the Johnson & Johnson vaccine only requires a single dose.

State health officials noted that the website may show more than 100 percent vaccine coverage for some towns due to several reasons, including people moving, students living on campus in the area, and people living in long-term care facilities.

- All Ages – 62 percent
- 18 and Up – 75 percent
- 65 and Up – 103 percent
In Caldwell, here’s the breakdown of fully vaccinated people who have completed their course:
- All Ages – 49 percent
- 18 and Up – 59 percent
- 65 and Up – 88 percent

North Caldwell has a population of 6,621 residents, according to the most recent estimate from the U.S. Census.
In North Caldwell, here’s the percentage breakdown of people who have gotten “at least one dose” of COVID-19 vaccine as of Friday:
- All Ages – 68 percent
- 18 and Up – 87 percent
- 65 and Up – 100 percent
In North Caldwell, here’s the breakdown of fully vaccinated people who have completed their course:
- All Ages – 56 percent
- 18 and Up – 72 percent
- 65 and Up – 90 percent

West Caldwell has a population of 10,837 residents, according to the most recent estimate from the U.S. Census.

- All Ages – 63 percent
- 18 and Up – 79 percent
- 65 and Up – 86 percent
In West Caldwell, here’s the breakdown of fully vaccinated people who have completed their course:
- All Ages – 53 percent
- 18 and Up – 67 percent
- 65 and Up – 79 percent

Essex County released the following cumulative coronavirus case and death statistics for Caldwell on May 14, noting that cases are sometimes reassigned by town after an investigation:
- Cases – 613
- Deaths – 16
Previous Caldwell totals include:
- May 7 – 609 cases, 16 deaths
- April 30 – 604 cases, 16 deaths
Essex County released the following cumulative coronavirus case and death statistics for North Caldwell on May 14:
- Cases – 487
- Deaths – 6

Essex County released the following cumulative coronavirus case and death statistics for West Caldwell on May 14:
- Cases – 1,054

Essex County officials noted that data cleaning took place in the county's reporting system on April 25 to "remove duplicate cases or errors." The county's cumulative case totals dropped significantly as a result, moving from 85,605 on April 24, to 82,949 on April 26.
