Death In North Caldwell Prompts Police Investigation
"We want our residents to know that there is absolutely no threat to our community," the North Caldwell Police Department stated.
NORTH CALDWELL, NJ — Authorities are investigating a death that took place in North Caldwell on Thursday.
A spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said a death investigation is taking place regarding a man who died in his home.
Prosecutors are waiting for an autopsy to determine the cause of death, the spokesperson said.

The North Caldwell Police Department issued the following statement on Thursday:
“We understand there is a lot of concern about a situation going on in town this evening. The Essex County Prosecutor's Office and the North Caldwell police are actively investigating a situation on the corner of Central Avenue and Cambridge Drive. We want our residents to know that there is absolutely NO THREAT to our community. All other information will come from the county prosecutors office at a later time.”
