Former Essex County Fire Captain Passes Away: Clifford Scholtz
"Clifford was a long-time, well-respected and dedicated firefighter," his peers said.
FAIRFIELD, NJ — Former Fairfield Fire Department Captain Clifford Scholtz has passed away, according to a Thursday announcement.
The Fairfield Fire Department posted the following statement about Scholtz’s passing:
“Clifford was a long-time, well-respected and dedicated firefighter serving his fellow brothers and sisters of the Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department as well as the Fairfield Community and surrounding communities. Captain Scholtz is survived by and the father-in-law of current Fire Chief Tim Connolly and the father of active firefighter Matt Scholtz. As well as his wife, five children, and many grandchildren. Arrangements will be announced to honor and celebrate the life of Captain Clifford Scholtz.”
