Free Talk In The Caldwells: ‘Food, Animals And The Environment’
Are you a lover of the environment or animals in the Caldwells? Mark off the calendar for a free, public talk on March 20.

CALDWELL, NJ — Are you a lover of the environment and animals in the Caldwells? Then you may want to be more aware about the foods that you eat, a New York University (NYU) professor and author says.
On Tuesday March 20, Yanoula Athanassakis, director of NYU’s Environmental Humanities Center, will host a free, public talk on “Food, Animals and the Environment” at 4:30 p.m. at the Alumni Theatre at Caldwell University.
The presentation is part of the Department of Theology and Philosophy Sister Maura Campbell, O.P. lecture series and is being co-sponsored by the university and the Caldwell-West Caldwell Public School District. For more information, call 973-618-3931.

Here’s how Caldwell University describes the event:
“Dr. Athanassakis’ will share her research and thought on how the arts are engaging and fraught with ethical issues of environmental degradation, specifically through literary representations of food production and animal consumption. She will address practices of consumption—the implications of the food we eat and the systems we support, and how art aims to disrupt habitual patterns of disengagement.”
