WEST CALDWELL
West Caldwell Mayor Joe Tempesta released the following public service announcement on Sunday night. He wrote:
“Please be advised, due to the forecasted storm over the next 36 to 48 hours, of the following issues:
- Number 1: There will be no garbage pickup tomorrow, Monday. If your garbage is regularly scheduled for tomorrow, pickup has been cancelled. Trash will be picked up on the next scheduled day – which is Thursday.
- Number 2: The Caldwell-West Caldwell Schools have notified us that all school buildings will be closed tomorrow. However, there will be remote learning.
- Number 3: All municipal offices will be closed tomorrow.
“Finally, due to the forecast of high winds – if we lose power and find it necessary, we will open a warming/charging station,” Tempesta said. “This will be held in either Town Hall or the Public Library. We will make another notification if this is needed.”
The mayor added:
“We also ask for your cooperation in trying not to throw snow into the streets. Also, please do not park cars on the streets. Both of these issues will help us clean the roads and give us a better chance or clearing the roads efficiently. Finally, if you have a fire hydrant along your property and you are able to clear that hydrant of snow, it would be a great help to the West Caldwell Volunteer Fire Department.”
