A Caldwell business owner is passionate about giving back and supporting members in the community who care for or are living with dementia.
CALDWELLS, NJ — The following news release comes courtesy of a Patch Caldwells community member. Learn more about posting announcements or events to your local Patch site.
The Alzheimer's Association Greater New Jersey Chapter (AAGNJ), the leading volunteer-driven voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support, advocacy and research is spotlighting people who are making a difference in the fight to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia. With more than 6 million Americans living with Alzheimer's disease or other dementia, and more than 11 million family and friends providing care and support for them, individuals across the country are seeking ways to assist those afflicted with the disease. In New Jersey alone, there are more than 190,000 people living with the disease and 347,000 caregivers. On June 20, many of them will be participating in The Longest Day (TLD). The event is held annually on the longest day of the year, the summer solstice, and is a day to raise awareness and funds to help end the disease.
Today we say thank you to Stephanie Parcells, founder and co-owner of Indigo Yoga Studio in Caldwell, NJ. "Stephanie is taking her passion for yoga and hosting a celebration on International Yoga Day. Their outdoor yoga class and live music is not only a great event for the community, but it is also helping to shine a light on Alzheimer's care, support, and research. We are incredibly lucky to have local businesses like Indigo Yoga that are passionate about giving back and supporting members in the community that care for, or are living with dementia. We cannot thank them enough." said Danielle Buckler, Special Events Coordinator, AAGNJ.

Stephanie explains, “I don’t have a personal connection to Alzheimer’s but I chose The Longest Day to support those that do. Yoga provides a safe, peaceful environment for people to come together - a refuge from daily stress. Join us on June 21 at Crane Gazebo in Caldwell, from 6:30 – 8:00 pm, for yoga and live music. It is a perfect way to celebrate the summer solstice, and join the fight to end Alzheimer’s.”
