Liberian Nobel Peace Prize to Speak at University 'World Leaders' Forum
The 2011 Nobel Peace Prize Winner Leymah Gbowee, will discuss the important role of women in peacekeeping.

Gbowee’s visit to Seton Hall is part of a celebration of the School of Diplomacy’s recently launched Peace and Conflict Studies research center, as well as the new certificate program in Post-Conflict State Reconstruction and Sustainability.
The event will take place on Thursday November 20 at 4:30 p.m. It will be held in Jubilee Hall Auditorium of Seton Hall University located at 400 S. Orange Ave. in South Orange, NJ 07079.
In addition to discussing peace-keeping, Gbowee will address the impact the Ebola virus has had on her native Liberia. The Gbowee Peace Foundation USA is working to educate the people of Liberia, and elsewhere, in order to minimize the spread of Ebola.

Gbowee, “the true embodiment of servant leadership,” organized and led the Women of Liberia Mass Action for Peace that helped end her country’s devastating 14-year civil war in 2003. Under her leadership, thousands of women staged pray-ins and nonviolent protests demanding reconciliation and the resuscitation of high-level peace talks, coordinated a “sex strike” and introduced other innovative nonviolent measures that gained worldwide recognition for their cause.
Tickets are limited, make sure to register by visiting this site. The event is free but there is a suggested donation of $15.
