Motor Vehicle ‘Mobile Event’ In North Caldwell Abruptly Canceled
A New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission mobile event was canceled due to "serious safety and security concerns," officials said.
NORTH CALDWELL, NJ — A New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission “mobile event” planned for North Caldwell last week was abruptly canceled due to concerns about the coronavirus, authorities said.
The North Caldwell Police Department addressed the cancellation on social media:
“Late this afternoon we were notified by the NJ State Motor Vehicle Commission that they were cancelling the MVC event for tomorrow! They advised us that they had several events this week where the amount of people that showed up made for serious safety and security concerns. They have cancelled all mobile events for the remainder of 2020!”
Borough officials also shared a post about the cancellation, adding that recent road paving projects in North Caldwell weren’t a factor.
