North Caldwell Top Cop Gets COVID Vaccine: ‘This Was My Choice’
North Caldwell Police Chief: "I know we all have different opinions on the vaccine, but this was my choice and I stand behind it."
NORTH CALDWELL, NJ — A police chief in North Caldwell has joined the ranks of first responders in Essex County who have gotten their second COVID-19 vaccination.
North Caldwell Police Chief Mark Deuer posted a social media message about his recent vaccination, saying that – after much thought – he “wants to be part of the solution.”

“After much consideration, I decided to believe in the amazing medical minds we have in this country,” Deuer wrote. “I want to be part of the solution … I am over this pandemic.”
“I know we all have different opinions on the vaccine, but this was my choice and I stand behind it,” the chief added.
