NORTH CALDWELL, NJ — Strapping on a giant device that looks like it’s from straight out of a Ghostbusters movie, the police officer goes to town on his car, spraying the entire vehicle with a disinfecting mist.
The scrubdown, shared on social media last week, is part of the new normal for the North Caldwell Police Department, which has begun decontaminating its vehicles daily as the new coronavirus spreads throughout New Jersey.
North Caldwell has declared an emergency amid the COVID-19 crisis, with several confirmed cases as of last week.
