West Caldwell Gets Back To Nature On Earth Day

West Caldwell held its annual Earth Day Celebration in Crane Park for 2017.

WEST CALDWELL, NJ — On April 22, West Caldwell held its annual Earth Day Celebration in Crane Park. Presented by the Essex County town’s environmental commission, the event featured a reptile presentation, face painting, and a “kiddie rock ’n’ roll” concert.

The event also included an appearance from family entertainer and West Caldwell native Ron Albanese and his “Polka Dot Pals” band.

“Earth Day is one of my favorite days of the year, and being a part of it in my number one hometown was far out,” Albanese enthused.

According to Albanese, the West Caldwell Environmental Commission uses the event to celebrate nature, but to also raise awareness of its efforts in the community, including park cleanup.
