Caldwell Police Suspend Overnight Parking as Storm Nears

A new winter storm could dump up to 10 inches of snow on the region

North and West Caldwell police said overnight parking is suspended tonight as a winter storm is expected to dump up to 10 inches of snow and ice on the region.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning from 7 p.m. tonight until 6 p.m. on Monday evening.

The forecast calls for between four to 10 inches of snow, with up to 1/2 inch of ice on top of that.

Police warned that the accumulation of snow and ice could lead to falling tree branches and downed power lines.

Caldwell-West Caldwell Public Schools has a board of education meeting scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Monday. So far there is no word on any cancellations or other changes.
