CHATHAM, NJ – With COVID-19 changing so many of our plans, one New Jersey girl wanted to make sure a summertime staple returned to her neighborhood.

Emma Zapata lobbied for, and got, an alternative route approved for the Chatham Fourth of July parade.

The “Alternative Parade” celebrating Independence Day and honoring our first responders is scheduled to take place at 10 a.m. Saturday. Residents are being asked to wear masks and maintain social distancing.
