26 Chatham High School Students Commended with National Merit Scholarship Program

The National Merit Program recognizes the top 5 percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2015 competition.

Of the approximately 34,000 Commended Students recognized with the National Merit Scholarship, 26 of them are from Chatham High School.

The students will be a part of the 2015 National Merit Program. The National Merit Scholarship Program recognizes the top 5 percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2015 competition, according to the Alternative Press.

“The young men and woman being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,” said a spokesperson for NMSC. “The students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success.”
