About 70 Percent Of Chatham Adults Fully Vaccinated Against COVID
New Jersey set a goal for 70 percent of all adults to get fully vaccinated by the end of June.
CHATHAM, NJ — About 70 percent of adults in Chatham Township and Borough are fully inoculated against COVID-19, putting the towns in line with New Jersey's six-month vaccination goals.
For the first time Monday, the New Jersey Department of Health released town-level data on COVID-19 vaccinations. The state's COVID-19 dashboard now reveals the percentage of all people, adults and seniors who have been partially or fully vaccinated in each city and town.

- Chatham Township population with at least one dose: 64 percent of all ages, 83 percent of adults (18 and older) and 94 percent of seniors.
- Chatham Township population fully vaccinated: 52 percent of all ages, 69 percent of adults and 86 percent of seniors.
- Chatham Borough population with at least one dose: 63 percent of all ages, 90 percent of adults and 95 percent of seniors.
- Chatham Borough population fully vaccinated: 50 percent of all ages, 73 percent of adults and 89 percent of seniors.
New Jersey set a goal to fully vaccinate 70 percent of adults — 4.7 million people — by the end of June. About 3.6 million people in New Jersey have been fully vaccinated as of Monday afternoon.
Before Monday, New Jersey only publicly released vaccine data at the state and county levels. The municipality data reveals disparities in vaccination progress between towns within the same county. For instance, 73 percent of Chatham Borough adults have been fully vaccinated, while only 41 percent of Dover's adults have been completely inoculated against the virus.

All people 16 and older are eligible for vaccination in New Jersey. Sixteen- and 17-year-olds remain eligible for only the Pfizer vaccine. Several vaccine sites — such as the Morris County regional megasite, Rite Aid and CVS — now allow limited walk-ins for COVID-19 vaccines.
The Food and Drug Administration granted emergency use Monday of the Pfizer vaccine for ages 12-15.
