Appointments Not Required At Library Of Chathams

Safety measures are in place for in-person library use, with contactless options available. Appointment needed on June 1 for book sale.

CHATHAM, NJ — While masks and temperature checks are still mandatory for everyone entering the Library of the Chathams, the library announced on Sunday that its appointment requirement has been lifted.

Mask-wearing has not has not been dropped yet, according to the library's update. Every patron entering the library must also take their temperature.

An appointment is still required though for the first day of the Friends Book Sale on June 1, which will now be held indoors, in the library's lower level. Click here to register for an appointment. The sale runs through June 5.

For those visiting the library's service desks, they will now find plexiglass shields were installed. Patrons who would prefer to not enter the library, can instead use the library's contactless checkout option or the mobile app.

Patrons are invited to sit throughout the library at tables and study carrels, as well as reserve a meeting room for small groups.

At high touch areas like the library’s copier and computers, patrons will find sanitizing wipes; and in various locations within the building, areas with hand sanitizers.
