Chatham Borough Gears Up For National Night Out

CHATHAM, NJ — National Night Out is coming back to Chatham Borough rain or shine on Tuesday, Aug. 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Chatham Borough’s Memorial Park.

With the return to in-person events nationwide after being sidelined in many cities throughout the country in 2020 because of COVID-19, Chatham Borough has a full lineup planned.

Free ice cream, giveaways, food trucks, live music, a dunk tank, tug of war, swimming, a basketball shootout and frisbee toss, are some of the fun things planned for the evening.

The Chatham Borough Police Department is hosting the police-community event, which is a yearly celebration where police departments across the country sponsor festivals, barbecues, block parties and other celebrations for the towns that they serve.

The borough’s fire department and DPW will also be there for the community celebration.

Chatham Township’s National Night Out is also in the works for the same date and time, with plans underway with the Chatham Township Police Department, Colony Pool Club, Green Village Fire Department, Chatham Township Fire Department, Morris County Sheriff’s Office and McGruff the Crime Dog.
