Chatham Borough Reports 1st Coronavirus Death Since Spring
Ten people in Chatham Borough have died from COVID-19.
CHATHAM, NJ — Chatham Borough reported its first coronavirus death since mid-2020. Ten people in the borough have died from COVID-19.
A 71-year-old man succumbed to the virus, according to borough officials. Mayor Mayor Thaddeus Kobylarz and the Borough Council expressed their condolences in the borough's weekly coronavirus update.
"May God rest this soul as we stand in solidarity again and prayer in mourning this painful loss," the news release said.

Chatham Borough went several months without a known coronavirus death. Officials last reported a fatality in a weekly update that covered late May and early June.
Borough officials also reported 19 new cases from Feb. 5 to Thursday, bringing the area to 148 cases in 2021 and 393 since the pandemic began.
