Chatham COVID Updates: Hospital Capacities, Main St. Shop Closes

CHATHAM, NJ — Here are the latest coronavirus updates around Chatham.

Cases and Vaccinations

Twenty-four Chatham Borough residents tested positive for COVID-19 from Jan. 15-21, bringing the borough to 88 cases in 2021 and 333 since the pandemic began. Local officials have reported nine deaths from the virus.

The Morris County Division of Public Health has reported 18 new cases in Chatham Township from Jan. 15 to Tuesday. Officials have reported 350 cases in the township since the pandemic began. The county tallies don't include death tolls.

The School District of the Chathams has reported the following on its COVID-19 dashboard as of Wednesday morning:

The New Jersey Department of Health has reported the following totals in Morris County as of Wednesday morning:

• 305 new confirmed cases Tuesday
• 26,502 total cases
• 4,185 total probable cases
• 836 confirmed deaths
• 202 probable deaths

The state health department has logged 46,150 vaccine doses administered in Morris County — an increase of 16,689 in the past week. Morris County has an estimated population of 491,845, and the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines each require two doses per person.
