Cases
Chatham Borough reported seven new cases from Dec. 11 through Tuesday, bringing the area to 202 cases and nine deaths to date.

The Morris County Health Department has reported 256 cases in Chatham Township since the pandemic began, including 23 cases since Dec. 9. Mayor Michael Kelly said in a Dec. 9 update that 34 township residents have died from the virus.

The state Department of Health reported 190 new cases in Morris County on Friday, bringing the county to 17,721 total cases, 756 confirmed deaths and 170 probable deaths to date.
Recent Updates
- A Chatham business owner was named a TIME Magazine Hero of the Year. When Greg Dailey isn't working at Frames On Main in Chatham or delivering newspapers near his home in East Windsor, he's often delivering groceries for people confined to their homes because of the coronavirus. MORE.
- Chatham Middle School will go remote until returning Jan. 11 to in-person classes. The district's Wednesday updated followed announcements from earlier this week that someone in the school tested positive for the coronavirus and dozens went under quarantine. MORE.
- Seventeen percent of hospital beds in Morris County are occupied by a patient being treated for the coronavirus, according to the latest data. While there is no clear threshold, NPR cites hospital experts saying that anything above 10 percent is concerning and anything above 20 percent represents "extreme stress" for a hospital. MORE.

- Gov. Phil Murphy signed four bills into law this week that are intended to provide a boost to New Jersey amid the coronavirus crisis — such as smoothing out issues at Motor Vehicle Commission sites — while vetoing two others. MORE.
