Chatham Hockey Raising Funds To Fight Childhood Cancer
Junior Declan Curry is behind the movement in honor of those who have battled childhood cancer.
CHATHAM, NJ - Declan Curry, a junior at Chatham High School, watched family and friends battle various forms of childhood cancer. So he decided to do something to assist.
"I have decided to use this high school hockey season as a platform to raise money and bring awareness to childhood cancer," Curry told Patch. "To do this I have started Chatham Hockey Fights Cancer and have partnered with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF)."
This year, during the Chatham Ice Hockey season, Curry said he hopes to raise $5,000 to help fund research to find a cure for childhood cancer, noting that Alex's Lemonade Stand is a charity that raises money and awareness for childhood cancer.
