Chatham Kids Celebrate Earth Day

Throughout the Chathams, kids went green by walking to school.

Students in Chatham's elementary schools observed Earth Day by having their own green event: Walk to School Day.

The Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Committee organized Walk to School efforts throughout town, emphasizing the importance of walking rather than driving in cars.

Kathy Abbott of the SRTS said schools also emphasized healthy eating with a "Grapes Guessing Game" at lunch.
