Chatham Korean War Veteran To Lay Wreath At Memorial Day Service
The ceremony will begin at 8 a.m. in front of the War Memorial at the Library of the Chathams.
CHATHAM, NJ — Chatham Borough’s Memorial Day service to honor those who served in all branches of the United States Military, is planned for Monday, May 31 at 8 a.m. in front of the War Memorial at the Library of the Chathams, located on 214 Main St.
In the event of rain, the service will take place in the fire bays of the Chatham Borough Firehouse, at 1 Firehouse Plaza.
Veterans in attendance will be seated at the start of the ceremony, with the Chatham Volunteer Fire Department leading the color guard, flag ceremony and Pledge of Allegiance.

Patriotic music will be played throughout the program, including “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “America The Beautiful.”
Chatham Borough Councilman Len Resto will speak at the service and read the attending veterans roll call.

Korean War Veteran Herb Ramo will lay down a memorial wreath during the ceremony.
The event is planned to wind down with “Taps,” to remember those lost; and with Rev. Robert Mitchell of St. Patrick Parish, leading the benediction.
According to information provided by the Borough of Chatham, Memorial Park was dedicated on July 5, 1920 on the grounds of the former Fairview Hotel, in memory of soldiers who lost their lives in World War I.
