Chatham Man Named to Adventure Club at Alvernia
The Adventure Club hosts two hikes each month for Alvernia students.

READING, PA -- Shane Schwarze, a resident of Chatham, N.J., was named Vice President of the university's Adventure Club in spring 2013. Schwarze is a Criminal Justice major at Alvernia, and a graduate of Oratory Preparatory School.
In the Adventure Club at Alvernia, there is an enjoyable experience waiting for anyone who enjoys the outdoors or just going for a walk. The Club hosts two hikes a month, one at a novice level and one at an advanced level. Hikes are to places of local natural beauty, such as Neversink Mountain or Nolde Forest, as well as the Schuylkyll River trail right outside of campus. Throughout the semester, the club hopes to enrich the college experience and expand the student's appreciation of the natural wonders that lie just outside Alvernia's borders.
Alvernia is a Franciscan university grounded in the Catholic and liberal arts traditions, that combines diverse academic opportunities with personal attention and a commitment to community service. Situated on a 121-acre suburban campus in historic Berks County, Pa., the university supports a rigorous and caring learning community that is home to more than 3,000 students.
