Chatham Schools To Host Talk On Managing Adolescent Anxiety
Dr. Daniel Villiers, a leading anxiety interventionist, will lead the Zoom presentation.
CHATHAM, NJ — The coronavirus pandemic has made things difficult for many, and that applies to children too. The School District of the Chathams will host a presentation Feb. 24 to help parents navigate adolescent anxiety.
The Zoom event will take place at 7 p.m. Feb. 24. Dr. Daniel Villiers — a leading anxiety interventionist — will lead the presentation.
The program will examine the nature and experiences of adolescent anxiety, which includes the social, emotional and academic components of anxiety for students and parents.

The program says the following:
"During these difficult and challenging times, many adolescents have been struggling with anxiety in relation to uncertainty, change, pressure from self or others, relationships, family life, lack of motivation, procrastination, perfectionism, boredom, isolation, and at times, poor academic performance.

"The goal of this presentation is to provide information to parents about how they can foster independent adolescents, help their adolescents effectively manage anxiety, and lastly, discuss how parents can help encourage and support adolescent resiliency in this age of anxiety."
