Chatham Teen Lied To Police About Identity: Authorities
Andrew J. Ott was charged with hindering and obstruction, police said.
CHATHAM, NJ - An 18-year-old Chatham Township resident was charged with hindering and obstruction after an incident with authorities, according to the Chatham Township Police.
Patrolman Brian Kelly was investigating a stolen vehicle report when he arrested Andrew J. Ott for hindering apprehension, police said.
During the investigation Ott provided officers a false name and date of birth, police said. He was arrested and charged with obstruction of law, a 4th degree crime, and released pending an Oct. 23 court date, police said.
