Chatham Township Police Investigating Burglaries
Three burglaries were reported last weekend in Chatham Township
CHATHAM, NJ—Chatham Township Police are investigating multiple burglaries that occurred early Sunday, September 13.
"A residence on Highland Avenue, Hall Road and Glenmere Drive were entered by unknown actor(s)," said township police. "In each instance, the residents were home and unaware that their home was being burglarized."
Two of the targeted homes were left unlocked, police said, and both of the residences were entered through sliding doors at the rear of the home.

In the third burglary, police said it is unclear whether the residence was open, but it appeared the suspect took time to enter the home, indicating the door may have been locked.
"We continue to urge all residents to keep your homes and vehicles locked," said police. "Should you hear any noises, hear dogs barking, notice your motion lights activate during the night or see anything suspicious or out of the ordinary, please contact the Chatham Township Police immediately."

According to FBI statistics, Chatham Township reported two burglaries in 2018, the latest data available. Anyone with information related to the burglaries should contact the Chatham Township Police Department's Detective Bureau at 973-377-0100.
