Driver Struck Overpass, Charged With Careless Driving, Cops Say

A Paterson man was issued a summons for careless driving Thursday after police said he struck an overpass at the railroad bridge on Watchung Avenue.

Jose Gamboa, 38, was driving a truck just after 2 p.m. when he struck the overpass, according to Lt. Kevin O'Shea. 

While Gamboa drove toward the overpass, O'Shea said he told police he thought his truck was not too tall to not make it through.
