Three-week project will cause delays, closures and detours starting Aug. 4.
A three-week road work project on Fairmount Avenue is expected to begin Aug. 4.
The road will be milled and paved from Main Street to Watchung Avenue. The project will cause traffic delays, closures and detours in the area, Chatham Borough Police said.
One lane of Fairmount Avenue is expected to be open during the majority of the project. Access to the train station north lot can be made from the Main Street entrance. Access to the south lot can be made from the Front Street entrance. Access to the municipal building can be made from Fairmount Avenue except for when work is being done directly in front of the driveways.
