Get Rid Of Hazardous Waste And Old Electronics In Chatham Saturday

Dump day is here for those household items you just didn't know how to get rid of. The Morris County Municipal Utilities Authority is giving residents a second chance to unload hazardous and/or e-waste on Saturday, October 1, in Chatham.

Hazardous and e-waste includes those boxy computers whose parts couldn't make the transition into the digital age, batteries, pool chemicals, and even stores of used cooking oil. MCMUA will accept old computers en masse, monitors, televisions, and out-of-use printers. They'll take your gasoline, paint thinners, old fluorescent lamps, darkroom materials, and fertilizers as well.

The MCMUA will not accept old tires, empty containers, latex-containing materials, medical waste, or anything that contains unknown materials. The drop will happen between 9 AM and 2 PM on Saturday, October 1, at the Chatham High School, 225 Lafayette Avenue in Chatham.
