Halloween Costume Contest, Trick-or-Treating Planned in Chatham

Event organized by Chatham Downtown Alliance.

The Chatham Downtown Alliance is organizing a Halloween event with a costume contest and trick-or-treating at Main Street merchants.

The event is scheduled for 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.

Children and their parents should meet on the front lawn of Ogden Church, Main Street and Elmwood Avenue, at 3 p.m. for the costume contest. Judges, including Mayor Bruce Harris, will pick the scariest, craziest and most creative costumes. Winners receive ribbons.

A CDA pumpkin in the front window will let trick-or-treaters know which merchants are participating.
