Kings Road Meeting, MS FUNdraiser Monday

Kings Road residents have the chance to pick the brain of Chatham Borough Engineer Vincent J. DeNave at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

DeNave will answer any questions about the upcoming traffic safety improvements along Kings Road, which will include:

  • A flashing speed-limit sign
  • A narrower roadway
  • A sidewalk along the north side of the street, and more.

When the meeting ends, residents can walk down the street to Cafe Beethoven for a special MS FUNdraiser, hosted by Jamie and Jeff Dixon.

Jeff said she and her husband Jamie met 25 years ago at the MS 150 Bike Ride in Florida. Now, after years of marriage and with their family, they intend to mark the occasion by participating in the multiple sclerosis bike ride once more, but first they must fundraise.

"Andy [Copp, owner of Cafe Beethoven] has generously donated his Café and Mike [Lloyd] from Gabriella’s has a fun ice cream treat before we split," Jeff said, making a pun about the banana splits to be offered at the event and about her and Jamie's move to Basking Ridge after 19 years in Chatham.

Pete Noble of The Music Center and her husband will provide the music, and the couple will raise a toast at 9:30 p.m.

The party begins at 8 p.m. at Cafe Beethoven and is BYOB: Bring Your Own Banana (as in, for banana splits.) The suggested donation is $25 per couple. RSVPs are required at (201) 650-5230.
