Milling And Paving May Begin June 1 In Chatham Township

Weather and other factors could change the preliminary schedule. Residents should be on the lookout for notices with exact dates.

CHATHAM, NJ — Chatham Township residents and drivers making their way through the township should be ready for milling and paving to potentially begin on certain streets Tuesday, June 1.

According to the township, residents should expect notices in their mailboxes prior to road work beginning, to confirm the dates.

While the schedule is subject to change because of weather or other reasons, milling may begin between June 1 and 2, then paving between June 3 and 4 for the following:

  • Susan Dr. from Marian Ln. to Hillcrest Ave.
  • Lisa Dr. from Dogwood Dr. To Hillcrest Ave.
  • Hillcrest Ave.
  • Johnson Dr.
  • Longwood Ave. from Lafayette to Washington
  • Rose Terr.
  • Woodland Road Islands

On the days milling or paving starts, residents cannot park on the streets and should anticipate potential temporary delays, when roads are being milled in front of their homes.

On dates the roads are being paved, it is recommended that residents who must leave their homes after 7 a.m., should move their vehicle in advance to a location away from their street. According to the notice, drivers cannot proceed onto newly paved surfaces until road crews have removed cones to enter the street.
