Officers responded to a call at 5:18 a.m. Monday from a resident on Fairmount Avenue near Watchung Avenue who said he heard noises in his home. The intruder ran away from the house when approached. Police believe the suspect entered through an unlocked back door.
The suspect is described as dark-skinned, perhaps black or Latino, wearing a black skull cap and dark clothes. He had flat hair peeking below the cap. He is between 20 and 30 years old, approximately 6 feet tall with a slim build.
