Pumpkins Arriving for Chatham Township 8th Annual Pumpkin Patch

The patch, with more than 3,000 pumpkins, will open to the public Oct. 8.

Truckloads of the iconic Halloween squash are on the road to Chatham for the start of the season and will soon be available for residents to scour in search of that perfect Jack-O-Lantern.

Pumpkins from the Navajo Agriculture Products Industry in New Mexico will line the lawn of the Presbyterian Church of Chatham Township, located at 240 Southern Blvd, starting Oct. 8 for the church’s 8th Annual Pumpkin Patch.

The Chatham High School Football team, coaches, cheerleaders and local Boy Scout Troops are at the ready to unload the more than 3,000 pumpkins arriving for the patch.

Proceeds from the pumpkin patch will go to the Community Soup Kitchen and Outreach Center in Morristown and the Community FoodBank of New Jersey in Hillside. The patch is also supporting the Navajo tribe that grew the pumpkins.

The patch will be open to the public from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekends. It will remain open until Oct. 31 or until supplies are out.
