Scalini Fedeli Named NJs Most Romantic Restaurant In New List

CHATHAM, NJ — Another national website has named Chatham's own Scalini Fedeli the most romantic restaurant in New Jersey.

The upscale Italian eatery has topped the distinction of Most Romantic Restaurant from The Daily Meal, which honored one restaurant from each of the 50 states. It was previously named one of the most romantic in the country by OpenTable.

Scalini Fedeli first opened in 1995 inside of a 260-year-old farm house. It has received rave reviews from critics over the years, including from New York Times and Zagat. It's currently the highest rated Italian restaurant in the state, according to OpenTable.

With white tablecloths, high vaulted ceilings, and antique pine floors, just setting foot inside the restaurant sets the stage for a very romantic meal. Cetrulo’s menu fuses French and Italian; some standouts include diver sea scallop carpaccio with citrus dressing and tapenade; soft egg yolk raviolo filled with spinach and ricotta topped with Parmigiano and melted truffle butter; potato-crusted snapper over sautéed wild mushrooms with red wine reduction and roasted beets; and veal chop with porcini-Dijon sauce and braised vegetables.

• Food is beyond amazing. A ladies night out catching up with friends in a wonderful ambience, great wine and desserts. Will be coming back with the hubby for a date night.
• Celebrating our 35th anniversary, we were treated like special guests by staff. The setting resembles a Tuscan villa and the food could not be better. My husband's Tuscan Bean Soup and my mixed greens with mushroom Napoleon were outstanding.
• Hands down the BEST restaurant ever! Most creative and delicious menu. Fabulous attentive staff who truly love what they do. My favorite of all time and I have been everywhere.
• The food is wonderful and so exquisitely prepared. The special on the night we ate there was lamb chops and I have never in my life had lamb that was so tender or that tasty. We have been there a number of times.
