Sculpture Leaving, Costume Contest, Pasta Dinner This Week

Farmers market, Board of Ed meeting also planned.

Goodbye, Sculpture: American sculptor Seward Johnson's "The Search," a life-scale bronze of a woman on a bench rummaging through her purse, is expected to be picked up from the Library of the Chathams on Monday.

Board of Education: The school board for the School District of the Chathams is scheduled to meet 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Board of Education building, 58 Meyersville Road.

Pasta Dinner: The Chatham-Madison Kiwanis are holding a pasta dinner fundraiser on Wednesday at Chatham High School. Carry-out meals are available from 4:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. and you can dine in from 5:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. $12 for adults, $7 for children under 12. The fundraiser benefits community organizations and scholarships.

Township Committee: Chatham Township's governing body is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the municipal building, 58 Meyersville Road. A resolution involving the community garden is among the items on the agenda.

Trunk of Treat/Harvest Festival:
 Long Hill Chapel in Chatham will be having its annual Trunk or Treat/Harvest Festival from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday. It is open to the community, and includes games, candy, prizes, bounce houses and food.

Halloween Fun: The Chatham Downtown Alliance is holding a Halloween event with a costume contest and trick-or-treating at Main Street merchants from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Children and their parents should meet on the front lawn of Ogden Church, Main Street and Elmwood Avenue, at 3 p.m. for the costume contest. Judges, including Mayor Bruce Harris, will pick the scariest, craziest and most creative costumes. Winners receive ribbons.

Farmers Market: The Chatham Borough Farmers Market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays at the Chatham Train Station through Nov. 23.
