Unloading Marks Start of Chatham Township Pumpkin Patch

More than 3,000 pumpkins and gourds are now available for purchase.

When the more than 3,000 pumpkins grown by the Navajo Agriculture Products Industry in New Mexico arrived in Chatham, it took a crew consisting the Chatham High School Football team, cheerleader squad and coaches several hours to unload them and lay them on the lawn for residents to have a gander at.

The 8th Annual Pumpkin Patch at the Presbyterian Church of Chatham Township kicked off with the unloading that took place Oct. 7 and will run until Oct. 31 or until supplies are no longer.

The patch support the Navajo tribe that grew the pumpkins, and all net proceeds will go toward the Community Soup Kitchen and Outreach Center in Morristown and the Community FoodBank of New Jersey in Hillside.
