Walk with Dinosaurs at Library of the Chathams Next Week

A "live," talking teenage T-Rex will visit Library of the Chathams as part of Fizz, Boom, Read!, a summer reading program for children.

Dinosaurs are coming to life. Don’t worry, Jurassic-Park enthusiasts -- it’s much safer than it sounds.

As part of the “Fizz, Boom, Read!” summer reading program, Field Station: Dinosaurs will arrive at Library of the Chathams next Thursday to bring its family-friendly attraction to teach children and their families about science and the massive creatures that once walked the earth.

The event will begin at 10 a.m. at the library, located at 214 Main Street in Chatham, complete with a “live” teenaged T-Rex, musicians and educational songs of science. Registration is not required.

This attraction is filled with music and stories to keep children stimulated during the summer months when they are out of school.

“It’s important to challenge kids and to keep them learning all summer long,” said Guy Gsell, executive producer of Field Station: Dinosaurs. “At Field Station: Dinosaurs, that’s what we do. The history of paleontology is one of science’s great mystery stories—with intrigue, unexpected twists and brilliant detectives who crack the case. Of course, we’ll also be bringing along a walking, roaring T-Rex just to make things interesting.”
