2 Cherry Hill Baseball Teams Set For Tournaments This Weekend
Cherry Hill East will participate in the Coaches vs. Cancer Showcase, while King's Christian heads to Oakcrest for the Hedelt Tournament.
CHERRY HILL, NJ - Two Cherry Hill high schools will participate in baseball tournaments this weekend.
The Cherry Hill High School East baseball team will face Delsea in the Coaches vs. Cancer Showcase on Saturday, April 27, 11:30 a.m. at Mainland, according to nj.com. It is the eighth year of the tournament, and all proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.
Cherry Hill East is 8-3 this season, with all losses coming at Shawnee, at Bishop Eustace and at home to Millville. The Cougars opened the season with a five-game winning streak, including a 3-1 opening day win over Cherokee. They have scored 10 or more runs in wins over Cinnaminson, Washington Township, Paul VI, Lenape and Camden Catholic. To see their full schedule, visit nj.com. King’s Christian opens play in the Hedelt Tournament at Oakcrest against Cedar Creek on Saturday, 9:30 a.m., according to nj.com. The tournament is an eight-team, single-elimination affair, with consolation games set for Saturday and the semifinals and final scheduled for Sunday.
King’s Christian is 9-6 and has scored at least nine runs in each of its wins, according to nj.com. They won seven of their first eight games this season. Cedar Creek is 7-4 and is on a three-game winning streak, according to nj.com.
