"The Board of Public Utilities continues to monitor the progress of our power companies to restore service, and the expectation is that many of these homes and businesses will be back online by later today," Gov. Phil Murphy said during a news conference early Thursday afternoon. "I spoke with a friend in Mount Laurel, and she said she and her family actually ended up going in the basement. That's the first time she can remember doing that in a long time or ever, so it was pretty nasty."

"Please allow yourself extra time when traveling this morning as unfortunately some roadways remain closed and traffic signals are still without power," Cherry Hill police said Thursday morning. "Crews are working hard to clear the roads and restore power throughout the area."

Mayor Susan Shin Angulo and the Department of Public Works have announced special expanded services to help residents dispose of the higher volume of storm-related debris and yard waste. From June 4-12, residents can call the Department of Public Works to schedule a special storm-related yard waste collection. During this period, normal weight and bundling restrictions will be relaxed, and township personnel will collect any yard debris residents can move to the curb.

"We cannot accommodate requests to move trees or large limbs from private property," township officials said. "We will only collect debris that has been placed at the curb, and cut to a size that can be handled by one person."

Residents must call 856-424-4422 to schedule a collection. Pickups will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis; due to the possibility of high call volume, crews may take several days to respond to your request. No requests will be considered after 5 p.m. on June 12 at. Yard-waste that meets the township's standard weight and bundling guidelines (cut to 4-foot lengths and placed in bundles no more than 50 lbs. each) may still be placed curbside for standard weekly collection.

PSEG has opened comfort stations in Audubon, Willingboro, and Lumberton as shown on the map. They will be open from noon to 5 p.m. providing water and ice. Upon arrival, drive up and open your trunk so PSEG employees can place water and ice in it. PSEG employees will follow all public health guidelines and industry best practices, including wearing face coverings and gloves.

  • 34 Municipal Drive Lumberton NJ 08048 (Burlington County)
  • Kennedy Center 429 John F Kennedy Way, Willingboro NJ 08046 (Burlington County)
