Anthrax Bassist Holds Workshop in Cherry Hill

Frank Bello will make his final stop locally Wednesday in a six-city tour.

Heavy metal bassist Frank Bello, a longtime member of the band Anthrax and one of the icons of the thrash metal scene, is making a stop in Cherry Hill Wednesday at Guitar Center as part of a six-city tour.

Bello is scheduled to perform at the store in the Plaza at Cherry Hill, adjacent to the Cherry Hill Mall on Route 38, starting at 7 p.m.

Also on the schedule are a Q&A session and a meet-and-greet, all of which are free to the public—with the caveat there's limited space for Bello's appearance.

Bello has spent a total of 28 years with the bands in two stints—he briefly left in 2004, but rejoined Anthrax in 2005. He started as a roadie and guitar tech for the band, and became its regular bass player in 1984, after Dan Lilker left the group.
