Voorhees Theatre Company to Hold Auditions For Its Fall All-Age Show

The Voorhees Theatre Company will hold auditions for its October 2018 production of Little Shop Of Horrors Thurs., September 7, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Additional auditions and call-backs will occur on Fri., September 8, 6:30 t0 9:30 p.m. Performers between the ages of 8 and 88 are invited to audition for the show, which will open for four performances on October 26, 2018. Auditions will take place in the Cynthia Watson Center at Osage Elementary School, 112 Somerdale Road in Voorhees.

Come dressed to dance and prepared to sing 16 bars of a Broadway song that demonstrates your range and ability. An accompanist will be available to play your sheet music, or you may bring a digital device for instrumental accompaniment. Be prepared to stay for entire time. An audition fee of $25 will be collected, and a costume fee of $75 will be due by September 21.

A deviously delicious Broadway and Hollywood sci-fi smash musical, Little Shop Of Horrors has devoured the hearts of theatre goers for over 30 years and remains one of the most popular shows in the world. The meek floral assistant Seymour Krelborn stumbles across a new breed of plant he names "Audrey II" - after his coworker crush. This foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore promises unending fame and fortune to the nerdy Krelborn, as long as he satisfies its taste for blood. Over time, though, Seymour discovers Audrey II's out of this world origins and intent towards global domination!

Just in time for Halloween, Little Shop Of Horrors will be performed four times: Friday, October 26, at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, October 27 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, October 28 at 2 p.m. All performances will be held at the Voorhees Schools Theatre, 1000 Holly Oak Dr., Voorhees.
