Baseball, Softball Playoffs Loom for East, West, Camden Catholic

The postseason is a week away.

All three softball teams and at least two of the baseball teams at Cherry Hill East, West and Camden Catholic appear to be in line for a playoff spot, according to unofficial power points released by the Newark Star-Ledger ahead of this week's seeding meetings.

East and West look like they're in line for the No. 14 and No. 11 seeds in the South Jersey, Group 4 softball playoffs, while Camden Catholic is unofficially fourth in Non-Public A South.

In baseball, West appears to be in line for a No. 5 seed in South Jersey, Group 4, thanks in large part to a 10-game winning streak that got the team well above the .500 mark. Camden Catholic, despite 13 wins, looks like the No. 12 seed in Non-Public A South.

East's baseball team is on the bubble, just outside the top 16 in South Jersey, Group 4—but as the power points standings are unofficial, the Cougars aren't necessarily out of the race.

The official seeding meetings for both tournaments are scheduled for later this week; the tournaments begin May 20 for baseball and May 21 for softball.
