Cherry Hill Baseball Teams To Play For Sectional Titles Friday
Both Cherry Hill West and Cherry Hill East will play for sectional titles on Friday, May 31.
CHERRY HILL, NJ — Both Cherry Hill high school baseballs team will play for a sectional title on Friday.
No. 2 Cherry Hill West advanced to the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 3 final with an 11-2 win over No. 6 Hammonton in the semifinals on Tuesday, nj.com reports.
Cherry Hill West will visit top-seeded Triton, a 6-5 winner over No. 12 Toms River East, in the semifinals, on Friday, May 31. A time has not yet been set.

Eli Atiya picked up the win on the mound for Cherry Hill West, striking out seven batters and allowing two hits and two unearned runs by Hammonton. Nick Sylvester was 3-for-3 with five RBI, including a three-run homer to start the scoring in the first inning.
Cherry Hill West brings a 24-3 record into the final. The Lions opened the tournament with a 9-1 win over No. 15 Camden Tech, according to nj.com. In the quarterfinals, Cherry Hill West defeated No. 10 Absegami, 4-0.

No. 5 Cherry Hill East advanced to the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 4 final with a 5-0 win over No. 16 Egg Harbor Township in the semifinals on Tuesday, according to nj.com.
Cherry Hill East will visit No. 3 Eastern Regional, a 4-3 winner over No. 15 Cherokee in the semifinals, on Friday, May 31, 3 p.m.
Stephen Lombardi picked up the win for Cherry Hill East against Egg Harbor Township, striking out three batters, walking two and permitting two hits, according to nj.com. Alec Rodriguez was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI in the win.
Cherry Hill East will bring an 18-3 record into the final. The Cougars opened the tournament with a 7-2 win over No. 12 Lenape, according to nj.com. In the quarterfinals, Cherry Hill East defeated No. 13 Howell, 5-2.
