Camden County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli Jr. also addressed the issue during a news conference Wednesday afternoon.

“It’s happened throughout the country far too many times,” Cappelli said. “The second mass shooting to occur in the United States within a week. We want to give our thoughts and prayers to the victims, their families, and we want to recognize all of them as heroes, particularly the law enforcement officer who lost his life on that day. We’re already hearing stories of young men and women who stayed back to help others down at loading docks, out back doors. It’s just a tragic, tragic event.”
