Cherry Hill Holding Abandoned Car Auction Friday

The township will sell off six cars listed as unclaimed and abandoned.

Looking for a used car, but don’t want to comb the classifieds or head to a dealership? The township might have a solution for you.

A half-dozen abandoned cars towed and stored by Cherry Hill Police will go up for auction at the end of the week.

Officially listed as unclaimed in a resolution by the township council, the cars—a 2002 Mazda Millennia, a 2000 Kia Sportage, a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse, a 2005 Nissan Altima and a 1998 Mitsubishi Galant—will be on the block starting at 11 a.m. Friday at the municipal building.

A preview of the cars will be available Thursday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at Cioffi’s Towing, at 309 West Chapel Ave.

Bidders can register Friday morning starting at 10:45 at the N. John Amato Council Chambers (Room 208) on the second floor of the municipal building, which will host the auction. Minimum bids will be set on each car to cover towing and storage fees.

The cars will be auctioned as-is, with no warranty, and payment has to be made in cash or certified check.
