Cherry Hill Man In His 70s Dies After Contracting Coronavirus

Twelve coronavirus-related deaths in Camden County were announced between Saturday and Monday, according to officials.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — A Cherry Hill man in his 70s has died after testing positive for the coronavirus, Camden County officials announced on Monday.

He was among 12 new coronavirus-related deaths among Camden County residents that were reported from Saturday through Monday, according to information provided by the Camden County Health Department.

“Today is another stark reminder of the potential this disease still has to cause immeasurable harm in our community. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families,” Camden County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli Jr. said. “To date, roughly half of Camden County’s adult population has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, but we need everyone to get vaccinated in order to truly end this pandemic. Fortunately, it has never been easier to get vaccinated, and this morning the county vaccination center announced that it will begin accepting walk-up patients with no appointment. If you haven’t gotten your shot yet, please join us at the vaccine center as soon as possible.”

  • A Gloucester City man in his 40s;
  • A Voorhees man in his 80s;
  • A Cherry Hill man in his 70s;
  • A Gloucester City man in his 60s;
  • A Bellmawr man in his 40s;
  • A Camden woman in her 60s;
  • A Camden woman in her 60s;
  • A Voorhees woman in her 90s;
  • A Bellmawr woman in her 40s;
  • A Gloucester Township woman in her 50s;
  • A Voorhees woman in her 80s; and
  • A Gloucester Township woman in her 90s.

There were also another 436 confirmed cases of the coronavirus reported in Camden County, bringing the total number of cases to 47,273 and total number of deaths to 1,167 since the pandemic began more than a year ago.

There have been 5,570 cases of the coronavirus in Cherry Hill since the pandemic began. Trace investigations are underway and ongoing.

To date, 381,705 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Camden County. There are 228,781 people with at least one vaccine dose, and 169,232 people who are fully vaccinated.
